I found this buoy on a private beach which washed a shore. It was washed on the beach or land from from the harbor.A buoy is a floating device that can have many purposes. In this case this one is used to show were rocks are in the water. It can be anchored (stationary) or allowed to drift with the sea wave. It is used as a form of navigation aid which identifies the approximate position of a hazard area which allows boats to navigate safely.
